Eastern Partnership remains a priority we are ready to further work on and support, Minister of National Defence R.Karoblis says 2017.09.27
 “I encourage Eastern Partnership countries to consistently and actively follow the European Union affairs, to make a part of the ongoing processes, make a contribution and benefit from the instruments developed, EU security and defence initiatives. I also urge Eastern Partnership countries seeking European integration to further grow and to stay faithful to European vision, to pursue their path with momentum,” Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis said in an a welcome address to participants of the Conference on Eastern Partnership Contribution to European Security and Defence – Practical Implementation of the Global Strategy of the European Union during a formal dinner. |

Lithuania steps up contribution to international security and stability – 34 Lithuanian soldiers deployed to the operation in Mali 2017.09.27
 Lithuania increases its involvement in the United Nations-led Multinational Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSMA) in Mali – a 34-strong Lithuanian Land Force unit is deployed as of October. The Lithuanian unit will carry out force protection tasks in composition of the German Contingent for four months. |

 “We thank and we appreciate very much the contribution made by the countries that form the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in Lithuania. It is a demonstration of Alliance solidarity and the collective defence commitment. NATO presence and strengthening of deterrence remain relevant themes for our region,” Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis said at a meeting with permanent representatives (ambassadors) to NATO of the countries contributing troops to the NATO eFP Battalion Battle Group in Lithuania. The delegation conducted a visit in Lithuania on September 21-22 for an update on the work done in the Battle Group deployed in Rukla. |
