Exercise Iron Sword 2016 wrapped up after two weeks of training 2016.12.02
  On December 2 media representatives and distinguished guests observed closing operation of Exercise Iron Sword 2016, viewed a static display of vehicles and weaponry used for the exercise and talked to soldiers at the Urban Warfare Training Facility of the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area. The event was attended by President of the Republic of Lithuania HE Dalia Grybauskaitė, caretaker Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas, commanders of other Lithuanian Armed Forces’ units, and foreign guests. |

First UK-led JEF force generation exercise was held 2016.12.01
 On November 29 December 1 officers of seven countries, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and the United Kingdom, trained force generation procedures as the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF).
In Lithuania the exercise was located at the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Lithuanian officers arranged various versions of the course actions could take according to a fictional scenario while consulting by teleconference with the UK-based joint headquarters. |
