On May 26 a formal closing ceremony of the 34th International Parachuting School Challenge 2013 (Fr. Challenge Inter-Ecoles de Parachutisme; CIEP-2013 LITHUANIA) took place in the garden of Vytautas the Great War Museum in Kaunas. The ceremony was conducted in attendance of Vice Minister of National Defence Marijus Velička, Ambassador of Belgium in Lithuania HE Peter Lescouhier, Vice Mayor of Kaunas Vasilijus Popovas, and division commanders of Kaunas Garrison.

“Stamina and dedication are required in each sport, but skydiving also helps a soldier develop an ability to retain control and to be certain of his actions. Skydivers are required to take that daily step out of the plane unhesitatingly, just like soldiers have to walk their path of service firmly and fulfil the duties committed to them. A soldier must know fear and how to defeat it. A soldier can only fear one thing – disgrace and failure to complete his duties,” Vice Minister of National Defence M. Velička said when thanking the participants.
