General F.B.Hodges to be a guest at multinational Exercise Iron Wolf II in Lithuania


On October 27-28 Commander of the U.S. Army Europe Lieutenant General Frederick B. Hodges will be visiting Lithuania. The U.S. General arrives to visit Exercise Iron Wolf II currently running in Lithuania, to discuss activities of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group deployed in Lithuania as well as exercises planned to be held next year.


On October 28, Saturday, Lt Gen F. B. Hodges will be conducting a visit to the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė where active phase of Exercise Iron Wolf II will be on at that time. The U.S. General will be met by Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Brigadier General Valdemaras Rupšys, Commander of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf Colonel Mindaugas Steponavičius, and Commander of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in Lithuania Lieutenant Colonel Thorsten Gensler.


Lt Gen F. B. Hodges is a huge supporter of security interest of Lithuania and the entire region. Lithuania has received a particularly strong U.S. support to in the form of stronger deterrence and resilience to potential threats since he became the Commander of the U.S. Army Europe in November 2014. Rotational U.S. companies The strong support of Lt Gen B. Hodges resulted in the U.S. deploying rotational companies in Lithuania, closer cooperation in defence planning and joint training to counter potential threats.


The U. S. General last visited Lithuania in September.


Exercise Iron Wolf II is running on October 18-31. It involves over 2.3 thousand soldiers from 12 NATO countries, HQ element of the Multinational Corps Northeast Command and support by the Lithuanian Air Force. In the nearest while a U.S. company from the NATO eFP in Poland will join in
