Lithuania and 10 NATO allies signed a protocol of intent on a joint procurement of critical land force ammunition

On June 29 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and Defence Ministers of Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Latvia, Spain, Poland, France, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and NATO partner Finland signed ca protocol of intent on a joint procurement of critical land force ammunition at a meeting in Brussels.

 

“It is beneficial for Lithuania to take part in such a project because the price is better when the ammunition is bought jointly with other countries, and it also demonstrates that we seek to use the resources efficiently and make the most of our funds,” Minister of National Defence R.Karoblis says.

 

Participants of this project expect to acquire ammunition for lower price, while plan for the long-term is to uniform equipment and perhaps even take decisions on joint ammunition storage and exchange.
