Major procurements of the National Defence Ministry in 2007

In 2007 National Defence Ministry bought armaments, military equipment, products and materials of military purpose for 290m litas. 91 contests were announced and 208 agreements signed with Lithuanian and foreign enterprises.

Following the investment projects approved in 2007 conditions for the Lithuanian PRT soldiers deployed in Ghowr were improved, tactical communication means, hardware and software, navigational, meteorological and communications equipment, system of territorial naval surveillance, organisational equipment and other items of inventory were bought.

The following armament and military equipment items were purchased: automatic riffles and pistols, patrol ships, ammunition for antitank projectors, demining equipment, ABC protection means.

115.7m litas in 2007 were spent for buying services of PRT camp maintenance, repair of communications network, means of transport, aircrafts and ships, medical service.

Long-term contracts (2006-2010) were signed on procurement of transport aircrafts Spartan C27J, multipurpose vehicles SISU, facilities of pouring aviation fuel, patrol ships, guns, ammunition for projectors, ABC protection means, and improvement of tactical communication means TAVVIS.

Objects for 30.2m litas were built in 2007. Those are as follow: two barracks (in Rukla and Central Military Ground), buildings of administration, engineering system, hangar of aircraft repair, food storage building, a garage, boiler-houses, fencing of Palanga naval surveillance post, and also repair of Vytautas the Great Military Museum roof.
