NATO expert team to visit Lithuania

On 7-9 November a fifteen member NATO expert team headed by NATO Deputy Secretary General for Defence Planning Policy John Colston will be in Lithuania.

 

The aim of the visit is to make an assessment of the on-going reform of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, progress made by the country in defence planning, as well as finance, resource policy of the National Defence System. By the end of the year conclusions of the visit, a formal appraisal document, will be presented to Lithuania.

 

Assessment visits by NATO experts to the Alliance member states and NATO aspirants are conducted on a basis of every second year. This will be the first time that such a visit will be conducted to Lithuania, as a NATO member state.
