On the 19th of January staff of the NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) Lithuania visited the Vilnius Rotary Club following an invitation from the Vilnius Rotary Club President, architect Augis Gučas.

NFIU Commander Col. Jakob Larsen thanked the President for his invitation saying "The military must work closely with the society, civil populations, business professionals and other organizations, because without your support, your understanding and devotion, not a single country’s army will be strong and able to carry out their Mission. Therefore, I am very pleased to be invited to attend the Vilnius Rotary Club meeting, and I will introduce to you what NFIU Lithuania does. First of all, I would like to thank the Lithuanian people for the great support to the development of the NFIU and I would also like to thank for the support of the National Defence Minister Juozas Olekas, my colleagues, the Joint Staff, and Brigadier General Vilmantas Tamošaitis."

After the introductory remarks by NFIU Commander Col. Jakob Larsen, NFIU Deputy Commander LTC Mindaugas Petkevičius briefed the Rotary Club members on the NFIU mission and tasks, and a Question and Answer session on the current security situation and the role of the NFIU in the future followed.

The Club President, Augis Gučas, thanked the NFIU for the presentation and highlighted that the Vilnius Rotary Club had a long relationship with the Lithuanian Armed Forces as some of the club members were also members of the Armed Forces as well as of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union.

To conclude the evening, Col.
