Lithuania supports Ukraine by all possible means, incl. military assistance and humanitarian aid

Lithuania has been rendering all types of military assistance possible, including assistance to the country’s armed forces and humanitarian aid, since the beginning of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. As Lithuania is developing military cooperation with Ukraine, implementation of the trilateral Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian Brigade, LITPOLUKRBRIG, project is among its top priorities. Lithuania intends to invite Ukrainian military to take part in military exercises in Lithuania as well as to join corresponding events in Ukraine this year.

At the junction of the year, Lithuania handed over material assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as well as components of combat equipment corresponding to the country’s needs.

In 2015 Lithuania will also step up its direct support through financing studies of Ukrainian military at the Staff Command and English Language Courses at the Lithuanian Military Academy in Vilnius and the Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia. The rehabilitation program for injured Ukrainian military at the Military Rehabilitation Centre of the Lithuanian Armed Forces in Druskininkai will also continue.
